2020 Programme: Pay and Connect

Pay and ConnectFrom 2020, eligible students will receive vouchers that they may redeem at UCT Food & Connect outlets. The advantage of the vouchers is students will have greater choice of lunches. This is made possible through Pay and Connect running in catering residences. Students will sign on and receive vouchers daily that they may redeem by using their smart phone or student card at a point of sale at Food and Connect Stores.

The list of stores where vouchers may be redeemed is as follows:

This is the timeline for the issuing of vouchers:

Term 1

28 January to 20 March 2020

Term 2

30 March to 9 June 2020

Term 3

13 July to 30 August 2020

Term 4

31 August to 10 November 2020

The value of a voucher is R35.00 per student. If a student spends less than R35, the balance will remain in their wallet to be redeemed at a later stage. Balances will be cleared

We expect students on the Food programme to use the vouchers daily and not to carry over vouchers from one day to the next. There may be good reasons why they cannot use a voucher on a given day. If this is the case, the R35 will be carried over into the next day
